INTRA-ORAL CAMERA
The intra-oral camera allows our patients to view exactly what your dentist sees. This small mounted camera allows your dentist to easily take images of your teeth and project them onto a TV screen in order to give you a guided tour of your own mouth and accurately explain any issues or concerns you may have with your dental health.
DIGITAL INTRA-ORAL X-RAYS
Wireless digital X-rays allow our patients to experience greater comfort while also reducing radiation exposure by up to eighty percent over conventional methods. DIGITAL ORTHOPANTOGRAM
Our digital orthopantogram, or OPG X-ray allows us a complete panoramic view of the upper and lower jaw in order to view not only the teeth, but the entire oral structure. Utilizing this technology, we are able to quickly and accurately identify hidden problems and issues within your oral cavity with far less radiation than conventional methods.
COMPUTER TOMOGRAPHY (C-T)
Otherwise known as a C-T scan, this advanced technology helps us to generate images of your mouth that not only shows the location of your teeth and height of your bone, but a cross-section of your upper and lower jaw. These images provide our team with more valuable and accurate information in regards to dental implants and surgeries.
OUR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
To help our patients feel more comfortable with their dental experience we do our best to explain your dental procedures in full. With our dental education software, we are able to easily provide our patients with full-motion videos, 3-D graphics, computer animations and narrations for a more accessible and easy-to-understand procedure.
DENTAL EDUCATION SOFTWARE
High-quality macro photography helps us to accurately document your smile and record fillings, crowns and gum structures so that we can identify changes to your smile over time. With this technology, we are able to provide images to help our ceramist find the perfect colour-match to your natural teeth for seamless veneers and crowns.
MAGNIFICATION EYEWEAR (LOUPES)
Dental loupes are used in order to give a higher quality of service for each one of our patients. Dr Michalopoulos uses this tool to complete advanced dental procedures on a more precise level with up to five times magnification from normal vision, allowing him to see issues that would normally not be seen with a sharper, more enhanced view.
C-T SCANS
This advanced technology generates a cross-sectional scan of your upper or lower jaw, providing us with valuable information to plan for dental implants. A routine X-ray is two-dimensional and only shows the location of your teeth and the height of the bone. The C-T scan shows this plus a cross-sectional view of your jaw. The images it creates allow us to select the best location for implants and plan any surgery with pinpoint accuracy.
Doing our best to keep the costs low, we at Dr John Michalopoulos Dental happily refer you to a dedicated radiography centre so that a great proportion of the cost for the scan can be claimed on Medicare as dental insurance companies do not cover them.
PIEZOELECTRIC BONE SURGERY
Wisdom teeth extraction can sound pretty intense for many of our patients, which is why we prefer to use the Piezoelectric bone surgery procedure when removing dental implants or wisdom teeth, as it improves the precision and safety of the procedure, and ensures a quicker and more comfortable healing period through the use of ultrasound technology.
STERILISATION AND INFECTION CONTROL
At Dr John Michalopoulos Dental, nothing is more important than your safety, so we work hard to provide a clean and safe environment for each patient. To help eliminate cross-contamination, we use TGA-approved sterilisers and instruments which are tested, calibrated and maintained by qualified personnel on a regular basis to ensure all parameters are met.
