Sleep Apnoea / Snoring

Snoring is a very common ailment that many people suffer from, even though it can be treated. It is the result of an obstructed airway. Loud snoring, excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue may be the sign of a more serious problem – OSA, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. This is a serious condition that has been linked to depression and reduced resistance to infection.

Dr John Michalopoulos works closely with respiratory physicians at St George Hospital, who refer patients here for a more in-depth assessment of their obstructive sleep apnoea cases.

We use the latest technology and have the oral appliances custom made and not ones of the readily available “generic” devices, where one size fits all. You will wear it whilst you sleep and it’s positioned in such a way that it promotes breathing through the nose and reduces the amount of obstruction caused by the soft palate encroaching on the airway. Most patients take very little time to get used to this.

We pride ourselves on being able to provide painless anti snoring devices and are one of the leading dental practices in Sydney providing anti snoring treatments.
